The myth i chose was Theseus and the Minotaur. In the story A king named Minos lived on an island named Crete. He was very powerful and had a beautiful daughter. However, the island was boring so whenever the king was bored, he took his navy and attacked the town of Athens on the other side of the sea. Athens didn't agree with that, so the king of Athens made a deal with King Minos and said he would send 7 boys and 7 girls to Crete every 9 years to be eaten by the Minotaur, or the monster. When the 9 years came, the king took the children and everyone in Athens was crying. Prince Theseus of Athens was young and thought that he would pose as one of the children and go and fight and kill the Minotaur. When the children along with the prince came to the island, the king and his daughter Princess Ariadne, came to greet them. The king told them that they would be eaten tomorrow, so they could do whatever they wanted tonight. In the meantime, the princess didn't think what was happening was fair, so she wrote a letter to the prince telling him how she would help him kill the monster and help the children escape. She was going to help them because she wanted to leave Crete because it was so boring. Theseus killed the beast with the Princesses help and took the princess and the children and sailed away. On their way home, they stopped and got supplies on the island of Naxos. The princess got off the boat and traveled onto the island and soon became bored and fell asleep. The prince and the children left her alone on the island.
I took this picture to represent the princess of Crete. People look at princesses as beautiful and maybe a little stuck up. Princess Ariadne was stuckup but it was clear that she had a good heart because she wanted to save the children and the prince. She made the decision on her own to leave the life she had behind and she stood up to her island, and moved away. I put my model in the tree looking down at the camera to show the princess looking down on her old life, and that she has grown up and risen above it. I modernized it by putting her in a modernday dress and doing her hair and makeup modern.

I do like this picture and i made Breanna dress in white to represent "heaven" or something holy. I made her look up to represent looking at heaven, or just thinking about it and I wanted her to have a smirk on her face to show she's "connected" or peaceful.

This picture is showing how fusturating religion can be at sometimes. I usually feel like every religion thinks that they are the only true religions..and in reality (i think)there is only one true one.

This picture is of my friend morgan, and I made her look like she is behind bars and like she is in prison. In the 1920's my religion (jehovahs witness) were put in Hitlers concentration camps, and i think a lot of people don't know that. The purple triangle on her shirt is there because the witnesses wore purple triangles to represent them.

This picture is a reflection of my religion because i'm a Jehovah's Witness and this is pretty much what we are known for, which is going out door to door. With all religions, other people look down on a religion that's not theirs. I put two small "maddy's" in the background and she's smiling. (Their kind of hard to see because their black and white). She's smiling because she's happy about what she's doing which is how I feel. Then the one of her in front in color, she is looking down because no one likes to be criticized about something they are pationate about.
